The Living Funeral
Imagine for a moment that you could attend your own funeral. Not as a disembodied spirit; but as the living, breathing you of today. Your dearest friends, some whom you haven’t seen in years, all gathered in one room, recounting the memories that have defined your time together. It’s an experience that is all too often reserved for those who are already gone, but it is precisely how I have felt over the past week.
To everyone who has gone out of their way to spend time with me before I leave for my next adventure; thank you. It has meant the world to me.
To those I wasn’t able to see, your kind words have continued to make my day.
And to absolutely every one of you, I can’t wait for you to visit.
I miss you all already.
On to the Next Step
Much in the same way I started my first blog, I am writing this in the airport waiting area, counting down the minutes until my flight is called. In many ways, I feel exactly like I did back then. Unsure of what’s to come, but fully prepared to charge headlong towards my future like a toddler learning to walk on two new feet.
I’m no stranger to traveling, but this marks my first time living in another country. Come what may, I’m excited to have you along for the journey.
So what can you expect? Well, after the jet lag wears off, you can look forward to much more frequent updates. I’ll be traveling all throughout Japan, Asia, and beyond, and will be using my experiences to teach you how to do it yourself; smarter, better, and cheaper.
